Gather for dinner Friday evening

Regarding
our tailgate:
Deserts are set so Sophmores please substitute appetizers or a specialty
for this very festive day.
As it looks right now - Rain is on the weather forcast.
We will plan to be in Tyser. This may be a better choice
regardless so we can decorate for the seniors. Bring pictures of
the Season if you have any. Put your name on the back so you get
them back. We will put them on a board to display.
Does anyone have the big banner from last year. It looked so great
when it was put up on the wall. Decorations will be needed.
Anyone interested with this detail please let me know. Any
suggestions -please let Cindee know this also.

UMD Bends Butler 19-4 Excerpts:
As part of the scoring barrage, six different players posted their first
career points at Maryland. Freshman midfielder Thomas Alford
(Washington, D.C.) netted two goals in the second half. Fellow classmate
Mike Brown (West Hartford, Conn.) also scored twice for the second
straight game.
A pair of redshirt freshmen Patrick Howell (Arlington, Va.) and
Brent Hargest (Cockeysville, Md.) each notched their first career goals
in the second half. Freshman Jay Feeley (Phoenix, Md.) picked up his
first career point, as he assisted Howell's goal with 7:10 left in
regulation. Junior college transfer Terence Dorsey (Baltimore, Md.)
netted his first goal as a Terp to close out the scoring. Freshman Chris
Feifs (Durham, N.C.) also had his first assist coming off one of his
four face-off wins, in the third quarter.

It is Sean Sullivan's Birthday and Maryellen is bringing a cake.
If you are on the dessert assignment please consider bringing fruit or

Special
Note:
Please,
as a general rule, wait for the team to get on line to eat before we
indulge. They come in a little at a time at first because some of the
boys are getting iced, medical or therapy treatments (and who gets to
the showers first!)
We seem to need a little more beverage as well.
By the way the Deviled eggs were a big hit!
Thanks

SHARP SHOOTERS COME ALIVE IN 14-5 OPENING GAME AT GEORGETOWN!
All the questions about the offense were answered in
the first half of this game as the Maryland sticks came to life against
a formidable Hoya squad. This was by far the best opening day in 5 years
with 60 degree temperatures and sunshine on a dry grass field in this
historic part of Washington. The fabulous weather prompted a change of
tailgate plans to be outside as we were able to get a spot that was
previously unavailable. Thanks to all and on to DUKE!

FALL 2003
WELCOME CLASS OF 2007
MARYLAND BANQUET HONORS THE 2003 SEASONS DEPARTING
SENIOR CLASS
The Comcast center was the site of this years banquet which had
everything you could want (except air conditioning). The coaches did a
great job of honoring last years group with comments, awards, and a
highlight tape to recognize their hard work and contributions to the
program.
Also high on the list was the recognition of the team's academic
achievements that had the men's lacrosse team second only to the
football team in players on the honor role. (This should be adjusted
because the football team has twice as many players).
The freshman class was also introduced along with some new transfers
to give everyone a glimpse of the new group of men under the helmets.
This new crew is also very talented and should be a strong addition to a
team losing so many seniors. It seems that the existing squad has also
done some work in the off-season as many players appeared stronger and
faster than last year as they look to fill the open positions on the
field.
Many thanks to the coaches for also providing contact information for
the parents group. Please look for this website to provide basic
information for the parents as well as through email as indicated below.
We all look forward to the 2004 campaign and a return to Raven's
Stadium and its new 'field turf' surface!
